Nithiyanandam Yogeswaran

Mr. Nithiyanandam had joined the Remote Sensing Research Group in 2011 as a Hong Kong Research Grant Council (HKRGC) PhD Fellow from Tamil Nadu, South India. He is one among the two candidates selected from India for the Hong Kong PhD fellowship scheme 2011/12, among hundreds of applicants. His research focusses on “Anthropogenic heat flux estimation and modelling”. Portion of his study had been channeled out in collaboration with the University of Gothenburg, Sweden & Kings College, London, U.K. He is the part of a model development team of Global Anthropogenic Heat Flux model “LUCY”.

Mr. Nithiyanandam's broad research interests are Optical and Thermal remote sensing, Urban meteorology, Active remote sensing, Spatial modelling and programming, Algorithm development, Hydro Geomatics, thermodynamic physics, and GIS applications.

Academic Qualifications

  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (2014 expected), Department of Land Surveying & Geo- Informatics, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong.
  • Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Spatial Information Technology (2009), Department of Geography, University of Madras, Chennai, India.
  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics (2007), Pachaiyappa’s College for Men’s, University of Madras, Chennai, India.
