The
Excellent University Textbook Award in 2002
by the Ministry
of Education,
The
book 《数字高程模型》(Digital Elevation
Models) authored by Professors Zhilin LI and Qing ZHU
(Wuhan University), published by the WTUSM Press in
2000, is well-received by the researchers and professionals in China and it has
been widely used as a textbook for postgraduate programmes
(i.e. MSc and PhD) in mapping and in GIS. In 2002, Professors Li and Zhu were presented
with an “全国普通高校优秀教材二等奖”（2nd Prize
of Excellent University Textbook Award） by the Ministry of
Education, China. This was the only book
in surveying and mapping receiving such a higher-level award (i.e. 2nd
prize and above) in that year.
