The Gino Cassinis Award

 

Prof. Zhilin Li has been presented with The Gino Cassinis Awards by the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) at its XXI Congress held at Beijing during 3-11 July 2008, "for his significant contribution to the development of algorithmic foundation of multi-scale representation of spatial data". The award was presented at the Gala Diner of the Congress, in the evening of 10 July 2008.

 

The International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing was founded in Vienna, Austria in 1910.  It holds its congress in every four years.  ISPRS Awards are presented at each congress.

 

The Gino Cassinis Award is sponsored by the Italian Society for Surveying and Photogrammetry (SIFET) and is presented to a person who has significantly enhanced the mathematical/statistical foundations of the photogrammetry, remote sensing or spatial information sciences in the four years preceding the Congress. The award consists of SFr 2,500 and a certificate.
