LSGI Department

The Department

The Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics (LSGI) is the only department, amongst the local tertiary institutions offering a range of opportunities for education, training and research in the fields of Land Surveying & Geo-Informatics. We focus on acquisition, modeling, analysis, and management of spatially referenced data for a wide range of applications. These include map-making, navigation, monitoring of engineering projects and geological hazards, environmental monitoring, boundary determination and geographic information management.

The Department hosts the awards of:

The Department has close links with both international and local academic institutions and the professions. Links with the local professional community are maintained through our community service and consultancy activities, hence our courses and research are orientated towards the needs of Hong Kong.

The Department has a new suite of well-equipped laboratories supporting study and research in the areas of digital cartography, photogrammetry, remote sensing, geo-informatics, geodetic and engineering surveys.
